Terms

Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of CouchHub, our social marketplace for buying and selling couches. By creating an account or using CouchHub, you agree to these Terms. Last updated 16 September 2026.

CouchHub is operated by The Hartin Group. For any questions about these Terms, email thehartingroup@gmail.com.

Acceptance of these Terms

By signing up, signing in, browsing, listing, messaging, or otherwise using CouchHub, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use CouchHub.

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. If you are using CouchHub on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and login method secure, and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. Sellers may be required to verify a mobile phone number via SMS before publishing listings, for fraud prevention and platform safety.

You may not share your account, impersonate another person or business, or create an account using false information. CouchHub verifies seller identity; misrepresenting your identity or verified status is a breach of these Terms.

Using the marketplace

CouchHub connects buyers and sellers of couches and related furniture. We provide the platform — listings, messaging, matching, saved searches, ratings, and insights — but we are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers.

Transactions take place directly between users (or via a seller's own external checkout, where a seller has provided a purchase link). You are solely responsible for inspecting items, agreeing on price, arranging payment and delivery, and ensuring a transaction is safe.

Seller responsibilities

Sellers must ensure every listing is accurate, lawful, and clearly describes the item's condition, dimensions, brand, price, and delivery options. Listings must not be misleading, duplicated, or for items the seller does not own or is not authorised to sell.

Verified and Premium sellers may display a custom business name and shop link, publish listings with enhanced call-to-actions (links, phone, or in-person viewing), access the Buyer Directory, push listings to opted-in buyers, and use automated follow-up messaging. These features must be used responsibly and never for spam, harassment, or off-platform solicitation.

Sellers must honour the prices, availability, and delivery terms they advertise. Repeatedly breaching listing standards, abandoning sales, or receiving valid reports may result in listings being removed and accounts being restricted.

Buyer responsibilities

Buyers must engage in good faith — only message sellers about listings they genuinely intend to consider, honour commitments made, and not attempt to defraud or harass sellers. You must not misuse the messaging, rating, or reporting systems.

When you enable "Allow sellers to contact me", you consent to verified and premium sellers viewing your buyer signals and contacting you about relevant couches. You can withdraw this consent at any time from your profile.

Subscriptions & payments

Seller access to enhanced features is provided through paid subscription plans (Base, Verified, and Premium) billed monthly via Stripe. A trial may be offered to new seller subscriptions. From time to time we may offer promotional or "founding seller" access to selected plans at no cost; such access is revocable and subject to the same seller responsibilities below.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

CouchHub may change subscription fees or features on reasonable notice. Existing subscriptions continue at the price in effect at the start of the current billing period until renewal.

Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • list stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, illegal, or age-restricted items;
  • post content that is unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, or infringes another's rights;
  • use the platform to conduct transactions outside CouchHub in a way that circumvents seller subscription requirements, or to harvest buyer data for off-platform marketing without consent;
  • manipulate ratings, reviews, swipe counts, or analytics;
  • attempt to access, scrape, overload, or disrupt the platform, or reverse-engineer any part of it;
  • impersonate another user, business, or CouchHub staff.

Content & moderation

You retain ownership of content you submit (listing photos, descriptions, messages, profile details). You grant CouchHub a licence to host, display, and use that content to operate and improve the marketplace, including for matching, moderation, and analytics.

All listings are reviewed by our AI moderation agent and may be queued for admin review. CouchHub may remove, demote, or restrict any content or account that breaches these Terms or our standards, without prior notice and at our discretion.

Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Intellectual property

CouchHub, the CouchHub logo, and all platform software, design, and branding are owned by The Hartin Group and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute platform materials without permission.

You warrant that any photos or content you upload are yours or that you have permission to use them, and that publishing them on CouchHub does not infringe any third-party rights.

Disclaimers

CouchHub is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that listings, matches, or ratings are accurate, complete, or reliable.

We are not a party to transactions between users and do not guarantee any sale, delivery, payment, or the conduct or trustworthiness of any buyer or seller. You use CouchHub at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Hartin Group and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of CouchHub.

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of CouchHub is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid us for a subscription in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Australian Consumer Law guarantees that cannot be excluded are preserved. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the affected service or paying the cost of doing so.

Termination

You may stop using CouchHub and delete your account at any time from your profile or by contacting support.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access, and remove your content, if you breach these Terms, pose a risk to the platform or its users, or where required by law. Upon termination, your right to use CouchHub ends immediately.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including liability, intellectual property, and governing law — remain in effect.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as CouchHub evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
